The Illusion Of A Permanent Self Or Soul

The Buddha taught that there is no essential or permanent core to a living being that could be
considered one's true self or soul. What appears to be an individual person is actually a changing
process of mental and physical qualities combining temporarily in a particular way. Through
possessive attachment, the mind identifies with part or all of this process, and this gives rise to the
sense of self, 'me' and 'mine'. In fact, all phenomena,animate or inanimate,are dependently arisen
from causes and conditions. In a constant state of flux, all things are empty of independent inherent
existence and the entirety of reality is a continuous flow of interconnected, causally conditioned
events arising and passing away in the present moment
Rebirth however, still occurs without a soul. Consider the simile of a candle burning low and about
to go out.A new candle is then lit from the old one.Though the old candle goes out, the new candle
now burns brightly. What went across from the old candle to the new? There was a causal link,but
no 'thing' went across Similarly, there was a causal link between one's past and present life, but no
soul went across.
The Buddha taught that it is precisely this deep misunderstanding, the illusion of a self, that is the root
cause of all human suffering. The illusion of self manifests as the ego, and the natural unstoppable
function of the ego is to control. Big egos want to control the world, average egos attempt to control
their immediate surroundings of home, family and workplace, and all egos strive to control what they
assume to be their own bodies and minds. This attempt to control leads to attraction and aversion
which consequently proliferates to acquire possessions,manipulate others and exploit the environment.
Although the sense of self seeks its own happiness, its insatiable craving repeatedly produces
discontent. As long as one identifies with somethings as oneself, the inevitable result is a lack of outer
harmony or inner fulfillment. Only through sharp insight based on profound meditation can this mirage
be clearly seen for what it truly is. Only then can one know perfect happiness.

A Path Of Inquiry
The Buddha warned against blind faith and encouraged wise inquiry and tolerance. In one of his talks
he pointed out the danger in basing one's beliefs merely on the following criteria: hearsay, tradition,
because many others say it is so, the authority of ancient scriptures, due to logical deduction, or out
of respect for one's teachers, elders or priests. Instead the traveler on the path of inquiry should
maintain an open mind and thoroughly investigate his or her own experience of life. When one sees
for oneself that a particular view or belief is both reasonable and in accordance with one's
experience, leading to happiness for both oneself and others, only then should that view be adopted.
This standard of course applies to the Buddha's own teachings. They should be looked into carefully,
and examined with the clarity generated by meditation. As meditation deepens, direct insight into the
nature of life grows. Only at this point do the teachings offer the bliss of liberation.

What is meditation?

Meditation refers to the mental activity of sustainingconscious awareness on one thing, perception,
concept,process or sensation.This may be, for example, theprocess of breathing, an external object,
the conceptand emotion of loving-kindness,a meaningful word,a physical sensation or the perception
of impermanence Meditation can be done in any posture, but the mostcommon ones are sitting
cross-legged and walking backand forth. As mindful attention becomes increasingly continuous, the
dispersed and distracted energy of themind becomes more focused and clear. The act of sustaining
awareness calms and soothes both the body and mind, while the focusing of attention energizes and
brightens the mind.
The deeper the meditation becomes, the more quiet, still and blissful one feels.This cleansed and
purified awareness, developed through repeated training, yields extraordinary clarity of mind. One
begins to see things as they truly are,beyound the limitations of conditioned perceptions and habitual
thought patterns.As one sees clearly, wisdom isborn,and thus serenity and insight form an inseparable
pair that are gradually cultivated through meditation.

Among the ten fingers there are long and short.
လက္ေခ်ာင္းဆယ္ေခ်ာင္းပင္လွ်င္ တိုေသာလက္ေခ်ာင္းကတို၍ ရွည္ေသာလက္ေခ်ာင္းက ရွည္
သည္။

At a distance from home a man is judged by what he seems : near home, by what he is.

ႏုိင္ငံတစ္ႏုိင္ငံ၏ လူ၀င္မႈႀကီးၾကပ္ေရးဥပေဒသည္ထုိႏုိင္ငံ၏လံုျခံဳေရး၊ႏုိင္ငံေရး၊စီးပြားေရးအတြက္ႏုိင္ငံတုိင္း
တြင္ ထားရွိေသာ ဥပေဒတစ္ရပ္(၀ါ)ကာကြယ္ထားေသာ ''ဒိုင္း'' ျဖစ္ပါသည္။ မိမိႏုိ္င္ငံအတြင္းသို႔ အေၾကာင္း
အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးေၾကာင့္၀င္ေရာက္လာေသာဧည္သည္မ်ားကုိ ကာကြယ္တားဆီးရန္ အစိုးရတုိင္း၊ တုိင္းရင္းသားတုိင္း
တြင္တာ၀န္ရွိပါသည္။ထိုကဲ့သို႔ကာကြယ္တားဆီးေနသည့္ၾကားကပင္ေမာင္ေတာ၊ဘူးသီးေတာင္၊ရေသ့ေတာင္
ျမိဳ႕နယ္မ်ားတြင္ (၈၀)ရာခိုင္ႏႈန္းခန္႔ စစ္တ ေကာင္းသား ကုလားမ်ား လႊမ္းမိုးသြားၿပီျဖစ္ပါသည္။ ယခင္က
ေမာင္ေတာၿမိဳ႕တစ္ခုတည္းမွာပင္ ရခိုင္ရြာေပါင္း(၁၉၂)ရြာရွိခဲ့ ရာယခုတစ္ရြာမွမရွိေတာ့ပါ။ အေၾကာင္းအမ်ိဳး
မ်ိဳးျပ၍စဥ္ဆက္မျပတ္က်ဴးေက်ာ္၀င္ေရာက္လွ်က္ရွိေနသည္ကုိ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ သားတုိင္း စိတ္မေကာင္းႀကီးစြာ
ျဖင့္ယူက်ံဳးမရျမင္ေတြ႔ေနရပါသည္။
ဤမွ်ေလာက္လိႈင္းလံုးႀကီးပမာ၀င္ေရာက္လွ်က္ရွိေနၾကေသာစစ္တေကာင္းသားကုလားမ်ားကုိ"မခ်စ္ေသာ္
လည္းေအာင့္ကာနမ္း" ဆိုသလိုလူသားအခ်င္းခ်င္းစာနာေထာက္ထား၍ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံအစိုးရသည္ခိုလံႈနားေန
ခြင့္ေပးထားခဲ့ပါ သည္။ကမၻာေပၚတြင္ဤမွ်ေလာက္သေဘာေကာင္းေသာ ႏိုင္ငံရွိလိမ့္မည္မဟုတ္ပါ။ ယခုတ
ေလာ က်ီးအာသလိုအာေနၾကေသာ ႏုိင္ငံအခ်ိဳ႕သည္ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံႀကံဳေတြ႔ရေသာ အခက္အခဲကုိ သူတို႔မသိ၍
မဟုတ္ပါ။လူသားခ်င္းစာနာေထာက္ထားရန္ဟူ ေသာ အေၾကာင္းျပခ်က္မူတစ္ခုတည္းႏွင့္ျပႆနာတစ္ခုကုိ
ေျဖရွင္းရန္လံုေလာက္မႈမရွိေသးပါ။
ႏုိင္ငံတစ္ႏုိင္ငံအတြင္းဤမွ်မ်ားျပားစြာ၀င္ေရာက္လွ်က္ရွိၾကေသာႏုိင္ငံျခားသားအေရအတြက္သည္ ေဒသခံ
ႏိုင္ငံ အတြက္ မည္မွ်အႏၱရာယ္မ်ားေၾကာင္း ယေန႔ကမၻာ့ျဖစ္ရပ္အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးဒုကၡအဖံုဖံုက သက္ေသျပလွ်က္ရွိပါ
သည္။သာဓကအခ်ဳိဳ႕ေဖာ္ျပပါမည္။ စကၤာပူကၽြန္းသည္မေလးရွားႏုိင္ငံ၏အစိတ္အပိုင္းတစ္ခုျဖစ္သည္။ ၿဗိတိ
သွ်အစိုးရ သည္ တရုတ္လူမ်ိဳးႏွင့္အိႏိၵယႏုိင္ငံသားမ်ားကုိ ဥပေဒမဲ့အတားအဆီးမရွိ၀င္ေရာက္ခြင့္ေပးခဲ့သည္။
မေလးလူဦးေရး အနည္းအငယ္သာရွိေသာစကၤာပူကၽြန္းတြင္မေလးႏုိင္ငံကုိလြတ္လပ္ေရးေပးေသာအခါက်န္
ႏုိင္ငံျခားသားအမ်ားစုျဖစ္ေသာ တရုတ္ႏွင့္ ကုလားမ်ားကမေလးရွားႏွင့္ပူးေပါင္းရန္သေဘာမတူခဲ့ပါ။ေနာက္
ဆံုးအမိႏုိင္ငံမေလးရွားသည္စကၤာပူကၽြန္းကုိလက္လြတ္ခဲ့ရပါသည္။
ၿဗိတိသၽွ်အစိုးရသည္ သူတို႔ေနလွ်က္ရွိေသာ ၿဗိတိသွ်ကၽြန္းကုိ စကၤာပူကၽြန္းပံုစံမ်ုိဳးမည္သည့္အခါမွ ျပဳက်င့္လိမ့္
မည္မဟုတ္ပါ။အလားတူလဘက္စုိက္ပ်ဳိးရန္၀င္ေရာက္လာခဲ့ၾကေသာအိႏၵိယႏိုင္ငံသားတမီး(လ္)လူမ်ုိဳးမ်ား
သည္ သီရိလကၤာကၽြန္းေျမာက္ပိုင္းကုိ ''တုိက္ဂါး'' ဟူေသာ ေတာ္လွန္ေရးအဖြဲ႕အစည္းအမည္ျဖင့္ကုိယ္ပုိင္အုပ္
ခ်ဳပ္ခြင့္ေတာင္း၍တုိက္ပြဲ၀င္လွ်က္ရွိေနၾကသည္မွာအမ်ားအသိပင္ျဖစ္သည္။ အလားတူထုိင္းႏုိင္ငံသည္အစဥ္
အလာအရ ဗုဒၶဘာသာႏုိင္ငံတစ္ႏုိင္ငံျဖစ္သည္။
ယခုအခါထုိင္းႏုိင္ငံ၏ေတာင္ပုိင္းေဒသကုိမူဆလင္မ်ားကခြဲထြက္အ ေရးဆုိ၍ေတာင္း ဆုိေန ၾကၿပီးျဖစ္္သည္။
ကမၻာေပၚတြင္ ႏိုင္ငံတစ္ႏုိင္ငံဟု အသိအမွတ္ျပဳထားေသာ ႏုိင္ငံနယ္နမိတ္သည္အဓိကမဟုတ္ပါ။ ယင္းေနရာ
ယင္ေဒသတြင္ ေနထုိင္လွ်က္ရွိေသာ လူနယ္နိမိတ္ သည္သာလွ်င္ႏုိင္ငံတစ္ႏုိင္ငံ၏နယ္နိမိတ္အစစ္အမွန္ျဖစ္
တတ္ေၾကာင္း မ်ားစြာအေလးထားဆင္ျခင္အပ္ေပသည္။
ထုိ႕ေၾကာင့္ျမန္ႏုိင္ငံအစုိးရ လူ၀င္မႈႀကီးၾကပ္ေရးဌာန၏ ေဆာင္ပုဒ္တစ္ခုမွာေျမမ်ဳိ၍လူမ်ဳိးမေပ်ာက္၊လူမ်ဳိမွလူ
မ်ုိဳးေပ်ာက္မည္ ဟု ရုံးရွိနံရံတြင္ ခ်ိတ္ဆြဲထားရွိသည္မွာ ျမန္မာအမ်ဳိးသားတိုင္း အေလးထားအပ္ေသာေဆာင္
ပုဒ္တစ္္ခုျဖစ္ပါ သည္။
ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံေရာက္ စစ္တေကာင္းသား ကုလားမ်ားသည္ ၁၉၄၈ ခုႏွစ္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ လြတ္လပ္ေရးရလာ၍ ဖဆပလေခတ္ကာလတြင္ ရခုိင္ေဒသကုိအမ်ားဆုံးဒုကၡေပးေသာလူမ်ဳိးစုျဖစ္လာပါသည္။ ဒုတိယကမၻာစစ္
ကာလအတြင္း ၿဗိတိသွ်တပ္မ်ား ဆုတ္ခြာ၍ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ေရးယႏၱရား ပ်က္ျပားေနခ်ိန္တြင္ အခြင့္ေကာင္းယူ၍
ဆုိးဆုိး၀ါး၀ါးအလြန္ပင္ ထၾကြေသာင္းၾကမ္းခဲ့ပါသည္။ ၁၉၄၂ ခုႏွစ္ဘူးသီးေတာင္ၿမိဳ႕တြင္အေရးပုိင္ဦးေက်ာ္ခုိင္
အသတ္ခံရပါသည္။ ေမာင္းေတာ ၿမိဳ႕သရီကုန္းေေက်းရြာတြင္အလုပ္ကိစၥႏွင့္အသြားနယ္ပုိင္ ္ဦးထြန္းဦးအ
သတ္ခံခဲ့ရသည္။
ကမၻာေပၚတြင္ စံတင္ရေလာက္ေအာင္ ရက္စက္မႈတစ္ခုကုိဤေဆာင္းပါးတြင္ ေဖာ္ျပပါမည္။ ၁၉၅၁ ခုႏွစ္

ကုိအရင္းမွေန၍မုတ္ဆိတ္ရိတ္ဘလိတ္ဓားႏွင့္ လွီး၍ျပန္လႊတ္လုိက္ျခင္းပင္ျဖစ္သည္။မူဂ်ာဟိမ္းသူပုန္ေခါင္း
ေဆာင္ကာဆိမ္းအျပင္ဇာဖာဟူဆိမ္း၊ဒူဒူမ်ား၊အုိ၀င္အူလာတုိ႕သည္တစ္ဗုိလ္က် တစ္ဗုိလ္တက္ႏွင့္ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း

အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ခြင့္အထိပင္ လက္ရဲဇက္ရဲ ေတာင္းဆိုလာၾကသည္။
၁၉၅၀ ခုႏွစ္ေမာင္ေတာၿမိဳ႕နယ္အလယ္သန္ေက်ာ္ညီလာခံမွေတာင္းဆုိခဲ့ၾကေသာအခ်က္မ်ားမွ (၁၂) ခ်က္ကုိ
အႏွစ္ခ်ဳပ္ေဖာ္ျပရလွ်င္ရခုိင္နယ္ေျမ ေျမာက္ပုိင္းကုိ​ မူဆလင္သီးျခားျပနယ္ထူေထာင္ရန္(ဆုိလုိသည္မွာ
ေမာင္ေတာ၊ဘူးသီိးေတာင္၊ ရေသ့ေတာင္ ၿမိဳ႕နယ္အထိကုိ ဆုိလုိသည္)။ရခုိင္ျပည္နယ္ ေတာင္ပုိင္းကုိ ရခုိင္ႏွင့္
မူဆလင္ ၅၀ ရာခုိင္ႏႈန္းစီအခြင့္အေရးတန္းတူေပးရမည္ဟု ေတာင္းဆုိခဲ့ၾကသည္။

သူတို႕ႏွင့္ထုိက္တန္ေသေခ်ပေျပာဆုိရန္စကားလုံးပင္ရွာ၍မရပါ။ေနစရာမရွိ၍သနား၍အိမ္ေပၚေခၚတင္ထား

ဘဂၤါလားေဒ့(ခ်္)ေဒသတြင္ရခုိင္မ်ားအေျခခ်ေနထုိင္လာခဲ့သည္မွာ ႏွစ္ေပါင္းတစ္ေထာင္ပင္ေက်ာ္လြန္လာ
ခဲ့ၿပီးျဖစ္ပါသည္။

ယေန႔အထိမည္သည့္ရခုိင္သားကမွဘဂၤါလားေဒ့(ခ်္)ေဒသမွရခုိင္ေဒသခြဲထြက္ရန္ေတာင္းဆုိမႈေလသံပင္မၾကား

လက္ေခ်ာ္ပင္မရွိခဲ့ပါ။မည့္သည့္ႏုိင္ငံမွာတြင္မဆုိနယ္စပ္ျခင္းထိစပ္ေနေသာေဒသတြင္ကျပားမ်ားရွိၾကသည္မွာ
ဓမၼတာဟုပင္ဆုိုရုိးစကားရွိခဲ့ေသာ္လည္းဘဂၤါလားေဒ့(ခ်္)တြင္ရခုိင္မူဆလင္ကျပားမတစ္ေယာက္မွမရွိသည္မွာ

အ၀င္အထက္တန္းေက်ာင္းတစ္ေက်ာင္းကုိ ေဆာက္လုပ္လွဴဒါန္းခဲ့ဘူးပါသည္။ေက်ာင္းအမည္မွာ The Ramu KheSa Rhee English High School ဟု အမည္တပ္ေခၚေ၀ၚေစခဲ့ပါသည္။

ယင္းေက်ာင္းသည္ လြန္ခဲ့ေသာႏွစ္အနည္းငယ္ခန္႕က မီးေလာင္သြားခဲ့ရာဘဂၤါလားေဒ့-(ခ်္) အစုိးရကအသစ္
ေဆာက္လုပ္ေပးခဲ့ပါသည္။ ေက်ာင္းအမည္ကုိ ေျပာင္း၍ RamuGovernment High School ဟုအမည္ေျပာင္းခဲ့
ပါသည္။ထုိအခါရာမူၿမိဳ႕တြင္ေနထုိင္ၾကေသာကုလားမ်ားကဦးခ်ီစားရွီ၏အမည္ကုိမေဖ်ာက္ဖ်က္ပါနဲ႔သူ႔ေက်းဇူး
အလြန္ႀကီးမားပါတယ္ ေက်ာင္း၏အမည္ကုိ ယခင္နာမည္ထားေပးဟုဆႏၵျပေတာင္းဆုိခဲ့၍အစုိးရကပင္လုိက္

၁။အထက္အေၾကာင္းအရာပါကိစၥႏွင့္စပ္လ်ဥ္း၍လက္ရွိျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ၏ဖြဲ႕စည္းပုံဥပေဒအရ၊ျမန္မာတုိင္းရင္းသား
မိဘ(၂) ပါးမွေမြးဖြားလာသူတုိင္းသည္မည္သည့္အရပ္ေဒသတြင္ေမြးဖြားေစကာမူလ၀င္မႈဥပေဒအပုိဒ္(၅)
(က)ႏုိင္ငံျခားေရး၀န္ႀကီးဌာနမွ၁၉၄၈ခုႏွစ္ဇန္န၀ါရီလ(၁၀)ရက္ေန႕ထုတ္ေ၀ေသာအမိန္႕ေၾကျငာခ်က္(၅)အရ
ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံသုိ႕ခြင့္ျပဳခ်က္(သုိ႔မဟုတ္) မွတ္ပုံတင္ကဒ္ျပားမ်ား တစ္စုံတစ္ရာမလုိပဲ လြတ္လပ္စြာ၀င္ေရာက္ႏုိင္
သည္။သုိ႔လင့္ကစား၊အဆုိပ္လူထုမ်ား၀င္ ေရာက္လာခ်ိန္တြင္ ေရလမ္းခရီး၊ေလလမ္းခရီးတုိ႕မွသြားေရးလာေရး
အဆင္ေျပရန္ သက္ေသခံကဒ္ျပားတစ္ခုထုတ္ေပးရန္လုိ အပ္ပါသည္။

၂။ေပးပုိ႕ထားသည့္နမူနာသက္ေသခံကဒ္ျပားမ်ားကား ျမန္မာတုိင္းရင္းသား(ရခုိင္္လူမ်ဳိး)မ်ား၏ေလွ်ာက္ထား
ခ်က္အရ ထုတ္ေပးရမည္။အဆုိပါကဒ္ျပားမ်ားမွာ ရုိက္ေနဆဲျဖစ္၍ပုိ႕ေပးမည္ျဖစ္ပါသည္။

၃။ေျပာင္းေရႊ႕လာၾကေသာ အဆုိပါလူမ်ဳိးမ်ားသည္ဘဂၤလားတြင္ေမြးဖြားၿပီးအိႏိၵယ၊ပါကစၥတန္၌ေနထုိင္ၾကသူ
မ်ားျဖစ္ လင့္ကစားျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ၏ ဥပေဒအရ သံသယကင္းရွင္းစြာျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံသားျဖစ္သည့္လူမ်ဳိးဆုိင္ရာ
ျမန္မာတုိင္းရင္းသားအျဖစ္ငုတ္လွ်ုိဳးေနခဲ့ရျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံအစုိးရအေနျဖင့္ တစ္ဖက္ႏိုင္ငံရွိရခုိင္
ဗုဒၶဘာသာမ်ားကုိျမန္မာ့တုိင္းရင္းသားမ်ိဳးႏြယ္ မွဆင္းသက္လာမ်ားျဖစ္သည္ဟု အသိအမွတ္ျပဳထားသည္ျဖစ္
၍ထုိသူတုိ႔အားႏွစ္ျပည္ေထာင္သားအျဖစ္အသိအမွတ္ျပဳထားသည္။ထုိလူတုိ႕သည္မိခင္ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံသုိ႔ေျပာင္း
ရႊ႕လာသည္ရွိေသာ္ထုိေဒသ၏တုိင္းရင္းသားျဖစ္သည္ အလုိေလ်ာက္ပေပ်ာက္ၿပီးလွ်င္ျမန္မာတုိင္းရင္းသား
အျဖစ္အလုိေလွ်ာက္ျဖစ္လာရသည္။၄င္းတို႕အားေသခ်ာက်နစြာစစ္ေဆးၿပီး ဘဂၤလားမွျပန္လာေသာရခုိ္င္

ေပၚေပါက္ ခဲ့ေသာ္ထုိကိစၥမ်ားကုိလူ၀င္မႈႀကီးၾကပ္ေရးဌာနမွညႊန္ၾကားထားသည့္သံသယျပစ္မႈဆုိင္ရာ
